Firstly congratulations on achieving your next milestone, I had the same experience took forever to get to 200, then had an influx over a couple of days due to being recommend.
Travel is so painful at times, especially with the unreliability of flights, although the Dutch rail system is incredible! We lived in The Netherlands for five years and Europe just get public transportation so right.
I can see why travelling losing it’s shine when there are delays, cancellations and unexpected repair stops involved! If only it wasn’t so stressful and out of our control!
By the way, I totally relate to this “Work is highly organised, but you’ll see life is a bit more hit and miss.” Hahaha
I can see that things didn’t go smoothly, but you did get to see your family and I guess I’d term that a success. I turned sour on travel a long time ago. Apologies if I’m repeating myself, but I haven’t been on a plane since June 1987, and that was just because I’d gotten discharged from the Navy and we were moving back from Virginia to New York. I would never leave our four cats in the care of someone else, no matter what the circumstances were. The cats are full-fledged family members, and three of them—no, let’s make that all four—are certified nut cases who would lose their marbles if we abandoned them for even one day. I had a girl named Zsa Zsa when I was hospitalized in the fall of 2016 for four days with ulcerative colitis. She was the very love of my life, and she got her fanny kissed by Daddy for fifteen years, but she gave me the cold shoulder for several days for daring to leave her in the care of my sister-in-law for ninety-six hours. Whenever I told people I had a cat named Zsa Zsa they immediately said that must be the most spoiled cat in the world.
I hope your novel is coming along to your satisfaction. Personally I think the less you share about it until it’s finished the better for you. Best wishes, and it’s been great to hear about your journey!
Wow 1987 that’s a fair while & prob alt around the time I got my first flight!
I do feel bad for leaving the dog but she’s always delighted to see us again plus I’m not sure my family would ever forgive me if I didn’t visit them & it would be crap for me too

Thank you so much, it felt hard won until I begged!! And now I feel epic 🥳
Dutch systems are incredible and oh wow do I LOVE their cycle paths etc. 5 years in NL, did you like it?
Absolutely loved it, we had the best time. We loved on Den Haag which is just the most beautiful city and so close to the beach. 🤎
I’ve never been, we never spend any time south really, so I don’t know what it’s like at all!
Congratulations on crashing through the 200 subscriber barrier!
You do seem to always have a good travel story. Hopefully your next trip will go more smoothly 💚
Always a good story to tell!!
I love the revelation that traveling is not fun.
I love to travel.
I love to go places.
But you are right.
Travel. Is. Not. All That. Fun.

It is a pain but we do always have a lot of good stories to tell 🤣
When it comes to sub-par sandwiches, you can’t beat Pret! Sounds like you had a nice time despite the travel struggles.
Absolutely - they smash it out of the park!

What an adventure. I remember reading your previous adventure as well. Sounds like a good tip to avoid travelling with you 😂
