I was gifted a microgreens little sprouting kit - must get my kitchen sorted so I can start using it! Thanks for the reminder 💚

That would be great, I think all you need is a warm spot - that's my hope

Yes the kit has jars and I have seeds. I only have a very small windowsill in the kitchen though and my African violet takes up a good portion ;)

Any sill will do!

Presumably one that gets sun - which are only the ones at the back of my house - kitchen, bathroom, my room. There is definitely space on my windowsill, but I fear I’d forget them behind my curtains. This is why I haven’t done it yet - but I have to just go for it :)

Bathroom could work with the extra moisture...

Maybe - I will have to give it a ponder. :)

Maybe I should try growing some micro greens this winter. It’s so fun to hear about your adventures because our environments are so different. I hope you get your chickens!

Thank you & me too! I should now more by the end of the week apparently! Micro greens are a great option for winter.

I haven’t started the clear-up yet either. It will be fine. Last year I left it until March! I needed a bit of sun to get me motivated 😫😂

That makes me feel better, thanks Lesley! I feel like there is more to do this year but it might be that I've just set my sights a little higher!

We are also thinking about getting chickens!! Probably after our holiday. And yes there's always so much work in the garden, it's never-ending

Oooh that's exciting, just makes sure you're not like us - we planned to get them after our holiday last year... 🤣

This is so fascinating to city boy Rafael. It must involve an immense amount of work but it sounds like you’re up to the job. Aubergines are called eggplant in the USA. What the heck, there’s nothing about them that is reminiscent of eggs. I don’t see why anyone would call an aubergine an eggplant when there’s such an exotic and poetic alternative. It sounds like a perfect name for a Bond girl. “Aubergine Parmesan” is one of my favorite entrees.

Hang in there, luv. I’m sure Nature appreciates and will reward your love, respect and hard work!

It's an odd name isn't it, although when they first start growing they do look a little egg like, except with a purple hue! Aubergine is a lovely word, French, as is courgette and zucchini is Italian, I have just looked it up!
