Great post! Full of lines that made me LOL (i.e. where you said you had words with yourself) AND such valuable info for us ladies. :) Thank you and keep up the awesome work!
Thanks for this post, young lady. I thought I was weird for giving names to things like guitars and bowling balls. (I have a 14# Purple Pissoff that I roll when the other team is striking too much and I want to bring them back down to Earth.) My beloved had an awful time with the Change of Life, thank heavens that’s all in the rear view mirror. And that account was pretty smooth for a first draft. My first tries are generally awful, that’s why I’m such a slow writer. ‘Bye for now!
We had a 1979 Chevrolet Monte Carlo that was practically indestructible. One time we had a leak in the radiator and boiled off just about every drop of coolant. We didn’t know anything was wrong because half the dashboard lights didn’t work. The car started making this awful banging noise under the hood (I think that’s the “bonnet” in the UK) and that was the first indication of trouble. We pulled to the shoulder, let it cool off, then drove to a market where we got some distilled water and filled the radiator then drove home. I patched the leak with some metallic epoxy putty and we drove that car for another three or four years. And you know we just had to name that old car “Rasputin” lol!
It’s 3:15 AM in New York. Thanks for conversing with this night owl. My back woke me up 90 mins. ago and I’m going to try to go back to sleep. Sweet dreams to me!
I'm so going to follow you into not doing chores on weekends! And thank you for the perimenopause thoughts. I've just started on hrt, probably should have started a year ago when my GP suggested it, but I just figured all symptoms were all down to long covid, despite knowing ah the research pointing to LC worsening or bringing on perimenopause. But get up, I'm there now and even though I've started on a low dose I've seen improvement already.
I think I may be in love with Doug... don't tell Mr.D. 😉 😂
He’s an utter delight 🧡

Always having words with myself Abbey, how about you? 😆
Removing the paywall has totally lifted a huge weight off my shoulders Han 😍
Ah so you had the same experience…we have a habit of potting unnecessary extra pressure on ourselves don’t we?!
Absolutely, I just couldn’t define between content worth paying for and not, so allow people to make their own choice.

Naming things is great! I never named a car but somehow these 2 needed a name!
