Welcome to the perfect Coorie Christmas Gift Guide.
Perfect may be a bit of a stretch, but given I own most of these things, it’s perfect for me! I hope you get some good ideas, either for yourself or someone else, but mostly, I think this should be about gifting to yourself.
Chilly feet? These slippers from Isobaa are fabulous. I bought a pair a couple of years ago and after much humming & hawing over the million and one other slippers that kept popping up in my IG feed, I decided to go back to what I know - they do not disappoint.
Who doesn’t need gloves? Especially if they work in a cold office. I love these fingerless gloves from Turtle Doves, super soft and cosy. Although I do have my eyes on these little wonders from Black & Beech: Do No Harm: Take No Shit
Feeling a bit spenny? Then look no further than Eribe knitwear. Not the cheapest, but beautiful, cosy and will last a lifetime. I was gifted a jumper earlier this year and then bought myself another as a treat last week. What I love about the latest purchase is that it’s reversible, it has a Fair Isle pattern on one side & stripes on the other. Retailing at £169 - I did say spenny - Phoebe was on offer at my local seller of marvellous knitwear shop, Judith Glue.
And if you’re really chilly, either sitting at your desk or out on a walk with the dog, a Cosymajig from Pothies could be the perfect thing. The Cosymajig is a wearable hot water bottle carrier with adjustable straps and a handy pocket to keep your hands toasty warm. I haven’t got one myself but I am so tempted and I love following Belinda on Instagram: Pothie Makes
Need a game to keep people busy on Christmas Day? Blokus is brilliant and definitely not just for kids. A friend brought it with her on a girl’s weekend last year and I had to buy it myself. You can play with 2, 3 or 4 players which is a win for our house of two.
If you have a book lover in your life, I cannot recommend The Outrun by Amy Liptrot enough...I think I might have mentioned it once or twice before… It's a memoir focussing on her time spent back at home in Orkney during her initial recovery from alcoholism. It’s so beautifully written and makes you ache for this place.
The National Theatre are currently running a birthday offer giving 20% off their annual subscription (runs out TODAY 8th December). You can gift this, or if you’re me, you’ll gift it to yourself. I’m particularly excited to watch Vanya and The Book of Dust. There are some BIG name actors and plays in there. Sign up here: National Theatre at Home
Add a bit of extra jazz to your hot chocolate with Orkney Marshmallows. You can get plain old boring regular marshmallow flavour, what ever that is…vanilla? But why would you when you can get Cinnamon Churro…yum!
Get your cheeky cards, mugs and notebooks from Cheeky Zebra. Not only are Sasha’s cards hilarious and often quite savage, but the way she shares her process and the day-to-day in her ‘family sweatshop’ is genius. Find her on Instagram Instagram or head straight to the website: Cheeky Zebra
Of course you’ll also need some mulled wine, candles, chocolate and savoury snacks like roasted nuts, or cheese twists.
What are you tempted by?

Love me a good pair of fingerless gloves and Blokus is so fun! I completely forgot about that game. Thank you for the reminder!
You had me at cinnamon churros…
